Summer holidays

are now upon us. Well some of us. Mainly me.
I am not really used to starting my summer break in May, due to the fact that when I was at school and college we would break up in July like everyone else in the United Kingdom. But for some reason, now I am at university, we finished our year 2 weeks ago. Shocking.
Since finishing for the summer 2 weeks ago, I have already found myself looking at alternative things to do around the house and where I live. This failed dramatically because where I live has nothing for a person of my age to do. Even the 12-17 year olds complain.

But anyway, moving aside from my dull start of a summer holiday, I wanted to know whether anyone here has had summer break happen earlier than what I currently have. Maybe you broke up at the beginning of the May or maybe even sometime in April. That would be shocking if you did in April. That would be ONE LONG summer holiday.

But I do have something to look forward to for this summer...I go on holiday a month on Friday :) So excited...Well not really, but it's still getting out of London so I am happy. Off to Western France with my family for a week. Every year we go to France (I know; cue the boos) I get bored of it too, but somehow I am actually excited for this one...We haven't been since 2008 because in 2009 we broke the chain and went to Turkey and due to moving house last year we couldn't exactly have a holiday. Another reason for my excitement is because it will be my last ever holiday with my family. With me now being 20, and moving out of the parental home in 2 weeks,I felt it was time to move on and establish things for myself...and that meant holidaying without the 'rents. But fear not, I have already been on 2 holidays without the family back in 2009...IRELAND! I know, I know, it isn't really a holiday but I still went on a plane without them and got to see and do what I want with my friends; but I truly and utterly loved it! The independence and the freedom to do what you want when you want is amazing. I recommend it to anyone 17+ who wants to uncling themselves from their family and experience the world alone, well with friends.
