Success

As I wrote yesterday, I had sent an email to the head office of HYPE JAPAN ahead of their expo in Earls Court. I am happy to tell you all that I have managed to blag a press pass for the event which will be gaining me access for the whole three days 26th-28th July. I am so excited to be experiencing the event as a member of a blog site and getting press info first hand. It brings back memories of when I got press access to BINTM in ExCel and that was such a fantastic day. Hopefully, this was be similar. I've been to Hype 2 years ago as a visitor and I loved it then also. So look forward to that entry, that should be up on 29th July.

Well..

Wow guys, has it really been 7 months? Apologises. I've had a lot of things lined up recently. I've been in talks with a few companites who are looking to me to be testers of some of their products so my focus has been on that lately, but a post is coming up soon about that. In other news, Im looking into covering HYPER Japan. If you don't know what it is, its an event aimed at Japanese culture inc food, music, fashion and more. Its an event i have been before and its incredible. So, if I play my cards right, maybe I'll be able to gain a pass and report on it to you all about my experience and showcase its amazingness. Its a short one today, due to a family death so expect more in the next fews days while this personal matter is taken.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Its officially 2013. Woop woop. Okay I know I am 10 days too late, but I am not bothered. It's the thought that counts, right? Ha.
So, seeing as its a new year, I have made a resolution and I am warning you now that I suck at these things that I will make a new post or 2 every month to keep in check with you all. How long that will last; I don't know myself.

Lemme start by saying that I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. Hopefully you didn't spend too much money this year, I know I did -sad face- and a few days ago, I wasted more money. I bought a train ticket to Paris for next month. Yup, you read correctly. Tut tut shame on me. But, there is a reason; I am going to stay with a friend for 2 days to hang out, party and shop. Also explore the wonderful city that I haven't been to in 9/10 years. I love Paris though, I am seriously so excited about it and I already have everything planned as to what I am going to do once I step off the Eurostar. But first, it would be to locate my friend. Expect a great blog post once that has happened. With many pictures of course.

Moving on, I have many many awesome things lined up this year that I am so excited for, but I won't go into too much detail, I shall hold back and let you read the posts once I write them in the next few months.

Just wanted to say hi, thats all. So I will go now. Have a great January, see you all in February.

Blog awards

Wow. Guess who is back? Me. Sorry for being away for 11 months. I do apologise deep from the bottom of my heart. You know, being a student is difficult. But that is all over now. So, as I usually do, I was just casually scrolling through some blogs of friends that I have here and one post by a good school friend of mine caught my eye. It was a blog awards. Anyway, I am reading though this post and smiling because my friend had been nominated and then all of a sudden I saw my name in the list. The first thing I thought to myself was 'Wow. Me? Never.' But yes, thank you ShuiKay aka Hazel <3 Let's get straight into the thing, shall we?
The rules for both awards are quite similar -Nominate 10- 15 fellow bloggers -Inform the bloggers of their nomination. -Share 7 things about yourself. -Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to them. Okay, so me and sharing things about myself don't really go down too well as I usually end up changing the topic so quickly, but here it goes. 1. I am a British-Irish girl. 2. I was born and bred in London. 3. I recently found out I have some French ancestry. 4. I feel naked if i do not have concealer and moisturiser on. 5. I adore my friends and family too much. 6. I have an unhealthy obsession with Tumblr 7. I wish to travel to Korea; just for Super Junior and the cosmetics. Nominations. Wow. Where do I begin. 1. Life in the second half 2. Confessions of a beauty geek 3. MrsChoKyuhyun 4. Sup3rjunior 5. Pandaaar (?) 6. mesluxes 7. The Sunday Girl 8. Ask A Korean 9. South Korea Addict 10. My dear Korea Okay, so I only went for the 10, but these ten people all run some pretty sweet blogs so please do go and check them out if you can and want to. Also, please be sure to stay with me as I promise to update this place more often. So for know. Thank you very much to my friend Hazel for the epic nomination and until next time, Bye!

Mianhe (sorry)

Sorry! (dances to Sorry Sorry by Super Junior) Its what I am currently listening to and links to this post as I am currently typing this out.
I really am sorry for my lack of updates. Been a very busy bee, what with uni deadlines, christmas, new year and also working (uni related and career wise too). But, fear not people, I am back. (sings to I'll be back by 2PM; Now listening to that but the Japanese version....Which isn't as catchy to sing to like the orignal Korean version from the same group - 2PM).

Moving on, I said in my last post I would talk about music, and guess what, I did. Woo. But I will carry it on. So as you can tell from previous posts I've done, I told you readers that I had been listening to a lot of K-pop music and I said about how catchy it was to listen to. Well, it is still addictive! Considering I can only understand the English bits and about 40% of the Korean words being spoken...I still feel myself bopping along to the song. An example of me bopping to one song would be Super Junior's song Mr Simple. OH EM GEE (dances to Gee by SNSD) AHA had to be done, I said Gee. hehe.
But yes, Mr Simple is sooooo catchy, I was listening to it last night whilst trying to get music done and I couldn't concentrate because the beat of the song makes you want to get up and dance to it. I also found myself dancing to f(x) Chu as well. Aha!

From listening to this style of music over the last few months, it saddens me that these acts don't come to Europe. Okay, I know that a few of them have been to Europe. Example would be SNSD, Super Junior, SHINee and F(x) who did the SMTown tour in Paris and then SHINee came to England (YES THEY CAME TO ENGLAND....I was gutted that I didn't know about it until the day they flew out of Heathrow to go back to Korea) :( I was very sad knowing I had missed Onew (Onew is the leader of the 4 member group and my fave) being in MY country. But, moving aside of this, I wish that others would come to Europe (well actually I want them to come to England) YES 2PM I AM TALKING TO YOU!!!! I NEED JUNHO AND JUNSU HERE IN LONDON!!!!!
It saddens me that 2PM and Girls Generation (and other artists) are going to be in Paris, -_- yes Paris yet again GRRRRRR, next month for Music Bank. Some of you are probably thinking 'But you live in England, you can get the Eurostar train there and see them, it isn't far.' Yes, it is an hour away, but the eurostar costs around £70+ and I would also have to find a hotel and that costs money too, then there is the hope that I could find a friend to go with. Also the buying of the ticket to the events. It all adds up and would be a lot of money. So if any k pop industry is reading this....Please organise an event in the UK. Us British people want to experience k pop too. :(
Gosh I am yabbering on aren't I? I'm sorry :( I'm just a very upset fan. I will leave you all now and hope to return next week in a better mood
-Plus I am leaving because my hands hurt from typing, I have just been typing an essay for uni thats due in next week and need a break from the laptop to rest-
(starts singing Back 2 U by 2PM.....ahhhhhhh Junho is singing right now <3<3<3) Randomness aside. HOT

Blogger app on iPhone

This is just a quick post (currently in a uni lec at the moment) but I wanted to just let you know that I am alive and just speak about the blogger app I just downloaded.

Now, where to start, I have no idea what to say really...it is completely different to the main pc/laptop version. Looks very basic and dull. But it is very handy when you need to blog while on the move; which is what people want I guess. I much prefer things looking pretty. So def recommend all you on-the-move bloggers with a smartphone to download it.

Anyway, that's all I wanted to say really as I do need to concentrate in this class.
Have a good day/night etc wherever you are.
Xx

project worries

Anxious, scared, don't feel confident & completely useless.
They are the words going through my head at the moment. Why, I hear you ask? Because I have so much uni work to complete over the next few weeks :( I have a print feature to complete and lay out (feeling pretty confident on that one), a huge essay on politics and then (this is the huge one that I am dreading) the online feature.
Now, I really do love Online Journalism as it is something I would love to build a career on once I graduate, but the huge problem running through me is the subject I am writing on.
Basically, my idea is to write about foreign languages and how if you were to learn a new language (other than your native tongue) you can get ahead career-wise. Okay, I can hear you say "but that won't be a problem" but it is. My tutor has instructed me to go to a language class and get experience in learning a new language. At first I thought "hey not a problem. I already know Gaelic and French. So what harm will it be knowing something else." My teacher then asked me the dreaded question "What is one country you'd love to visit in your lifetime?" and me being idiotic said "Korea". So now I am having to hunt down Korean language classes in the London area hoping something would show up at no cost. FAIL!!! Every class in London and surrounding areas ask for a fee, not a small fee, but a huge one. How depressing :(
So I thought I would send out a call for help and address my readers and ask
Do any of my readers speak or know Korean and would like to help me with my assignment? It would be much appreciated.

Thank you my lovelies
Peace out

Unhealthy

Okay let's get things straight before I go into topic. I fail at this blogging lark. I admit it. I fail massively. I said a couple of days ago I would continue my 'Panda' entry with the rest of the pics; it was such a hassle (and I was in a foul mood that evening) that I completely forgot. I've been blogging for ages now and I am surprised people haven't figured it out yet that I cannot commit to things all the time :S *slaps self on wrist* I need to stop saying sorry.

Moving swiftly on, I am in LOVE! Okay, let me rephrase that, I LOVE K-Pop! I know what you are all saying "Where have you been hiding all this time?" and "You've only just started listening to it? Urgh, get with the times". Yes you are right, it has taken me forever to actually listen to some k-pop but I am in awe of it. Well actually, it was just 1 guy group that made in love the music. 2PM Hot hot hot hot hot hot! Yes I said hot six times. Each member is hot in their own way.
Even as I write this I am listening to them Again and Again (love)
I had some messages on my facebook recently with some of my friends asking the following things about (which I quoted) and they also asked me "omg who's your fave? You must have a fave." Considering I've only been listening to them for about a week now; I think I have a fave! EEEP! I can hear you all going "eeee who will she pick?" Well, gosh this is tricky, my favourite member is...JunSuWooYoungTaecyeon! AHHHHHH I couldn't do it. Alright I have three fave members! I admit it. Im sorry :(

I def recommend you listen to 2PM, please do. Their song 'Hands Up' is a major catch and will def get you up and bopping along to the beat. With me being English, Korean isn't a language I have learnt in my life so far but OMO (Yep thats a Korean word xD) its quite easy to sing along....If Nichkhun can speak Korean, then pretty much anyone can Nichkhun isn't Korean, he is American-Thai if you didnt know (member of the group)
But these Oppas (argh another Korean word) are absolute beauts!

Shopping Haul //end of the 30 days thing

Apologies for the lack of updates I've been doing on this blog. I know it has been a while since I last paid a visit here, and I truly am sorry about that. Hopefully you'll understand how busy I have been since I last made a post.
Anyway, I have decided to stop the 30 day thing. I was lagging with it, due to my uni work and actual work, that I didn't have the time to commit to it every single day. Enough of that though. Lets get into the main point of todays post.
SHOPPING HAUL

So today I went to Aldershot with my housemates for a trip that was meant to be for a cooking pot for tomorrow nights dinner. I ended up getting distracted by about a million things and brought many items. One of the best buys I brought from today was my panda hat & matching gloves.

Now if you didn't know, I love pandas! I mean c'mon its in my name (sort of) MANDA.....PANDA. DUH! :) aha.
Super cute right?
As it was part of an offer, I had to then buy a third item which would be free. Only issue was, there was nothing else panda related :( Luckily, I saw a cat hat...and my best friend loves cats so yeah I sorta got her a cat hat :) Ain't I the sweetest? hehe.

Will update more about it tomorrow.

Day 15 + neglecting blog

Let me just get the day thing out of the way before I ramble on.
Day 15 is 'Something you cannot leave the house without.
Mine would have to be my phone. This is my phone

I love my phone! Ever since I got it I have been glued to it. Forget the blackberry; pile of crap that always crashes every few days and needs countless repairs (my bb did anyway) Now it is sitting in a corner collecting dust while I stare in awe at this phone I own.

Anyway, yet again, I find myself writing another apology post as to why I have neglected this. Since I moved into my student house, I have been back and forth to my parental home and this home over the last few weeks. From now until christmas, there shall be no more commuting...But, I still have to work so a few more blog neglects. But I am trying to keep on track. :)

Day 14 + product review

Major slacking going on with this day thingy. Sorrrrryyyyyyyyyy.
So Day 14 is 'TV show you are currently addicted to'. Gosh there are so many to choose from. This is difficult. Can I not pick three?
Meh, fine. I will have to choose the programme I just finished watching (NO STEREOTYPING)
Keeping Up With the Kardashians eep!
Its just sooooooooooo addicted. Specially the episode I just finished watching with them all on holiday and Kim introduces the family to her bf (or shall I say her 'now' husband).

Moving on from that, I did mention in some posts ago that I wanted to make a change to this blog and the thing I am about to do is one of them changes. I wanted to do a few product reviews so you readers can benefit from some ace things before hitting the shops to make the purchase (if you choose to do so)
Soooo, my first product is going to be....

Tigi S Factor Smoothing Lusterizer

It is an amazing hair product which I brought from my hair salon. It is a defrizzer & tamer which proves to be an amazing essential for you frizzy haired beauties like myself.
If, like me, you have frizzy hair and love to straight you hair on a regular basis; yet find your frizz to reappear after a few mins then this is for you.
When I use this, I tend to put it on once I've washed and conditioned my hair, left my hair to dry naturally then straight. Always after Ive straightened, I squeeze about a blob (the size of a pea) into my palm and rub into my hand. Once done, you finely run your hands though your hair. Don't apply it to your scalp until you've applied it to the ends of your hair. You will find that if you start at the top of your head, it will make your hair look greasy. No one wants greasy hair. All you want is nice shiny and natural looking hair. NO GREASE!

You are then set for the day ahead.
Another thing I love about this defrizzer is; it protects your hair against humidity. You know what the british summers are like. Warm(ish) yet very humid which is a killer for beautiful hair.

If you are interested in this product, visit your local salon and enquire if they sell it. It only cost me £14.95. So a right bargain and it lasts for months! Years even as you use so little each time you apply.

Day 13

My favourite musician and why?
Would have to be Elliot Minor. Just because of their abilities as musicians. They are incredible live and it saddens me to think that they have decided to go their separate ways. Ive seen them live many times in Northern London and Brighton; and each time they have been better than the last show. One day, I hope they decide to do a reunion gig like Take That.

Check them out on youtube.
One song I recommend is 'Electric High' or 'Parallel Worlds'

No blog from me today because I am peed off. Family issues happening, sorry

A challenge; also Day 12

I shall start off with this first. Day 12 is a photo of the town you live in. Oh great you get to see where I live =/ grim town. My hometown (London) is prettier but I moved out of there nearly 6 years ago T_T

There it is. A West Sussex town for you where I am.

Anyway, moving on, last week I was set a challenge by a friend of mine. She was telling me about Green Tea and how it has a million health benefits and that it's better than normal English tea. She then said to me that I should try replacing it with my normal tea and see how I feel after 2 weeks. So I thought, hey I like challenges, lets try this. So atm I am on day 3 and I must say I do feel a little different. I don't know how to explain it but it feels good. I recommend all you tea drinkers try it.
If you live in the United Kingdom and you shop at Sainsburys (or have one nearby) pop in and buy some, they have a deal on at the moment where you can get 3 packs for £2.50. Its available on Green Tea Pure, Green Tea with Jasmine and many more Green Tea varietys. Go on, give it a go.
I am also going to blog about the challenge everyday to let you know how its going and what I'm benefitting from.

Peace out

Day 10 and 11

So behind. I feel terrible. This is what work does to you. Literally tired me out. So yes, day 10 was meant to be up yesterday.
DAY 10 - A photo of your favourite place to eat

NANDOS!!! Fittest restaurant ever! Check them out.

Day 11 - What is in your make up bag?
Where do I start? My make up bag is huge! I got Clinique face powder which is a god-send for setting make up in place. Recently fallen in love with BB Cream and managed to get one from Korea called Skin79 Super BeBlesh cream. It comes in a pretty hot pink dispenser. Alongside these two items I also have Maybelline Great Lash waterproof mascara, Garnier tinted eye roll-on, Bonjoir Kohl eyeliner pencil and some benefit blusher.

Tumblr love

Don't shout at me. Please don't. I know yesterday I said I wouldn't be able to blog at all today but I somehow managed to do what I needed to do today and thought I'd make a pit stop here as I was a little bored; nothing was on the telly.

Today, or should I say tonight, I thought I'd talk about Tumblr. I have such a love/hate relationship with it. I love the platform of it: the different fonts you can use for each paragraph (if you are odd like that) and then being able to add pictures easier etc. The only problem I have with it is adjusting to it. People I know who use the site tell me it is so much easier to use than blogger. Others have said that they would never turn back to Blogger because of the functions that Tumblr offer. Then you had the odd person say 'But I prefer WordPress'. Now WordPress is a totally different topic in itself (which I shall talk about another day).

I was recently on Tumblr and found out I had created the account for myself last year and had only wrote 1 post, so I thought I would be nice and write an entry into it...And omg did it talk a while to get used to. I found it to be so much difficult than Blogger. Don't ask me why, but I just find this site so much easier to use. I like the way you can easily add a templete to change the look of your webpage and editing different parts etc. Now, with Tumblr, it's a whole different story which I am not going to go into as it confused me (I had to ask a friend who, in the end, got frustrated with me because I kept saying 'Can you repeat that bit again?' I just do not get complicated stuff. I'd rather be handed a 'Get Out of Jail Free' card and take the easy route. But then again that's me.

Someone asked me the other day 'Would you consider moving this blog to Tumblr for the future or stay with basic blogging?' and you know what I said? I said 'I do not know'. Because, I honestly do not know. It all depends on whether I can get to grips with it. If I had to judge myself right now. I would say no. No I wouldn't move to Tumblr. But for all I know, I could improve and begin to love Tumblr. So for now, I am just experimenting with the site. I shall update you all with my status on how it is coming along. If problems disappear, you could may well be seeing this blog appear on Tumblr. For now, not going to happen.

Peace out

A day early

Okay so seeing as I wont be online all day tomorrow (for this blog anyway) I thought I would post DAY 9 up now.
Day 9 – A photo of the item you last purchased
Now this question is a little confusing *for me anyway* I say that because I don't know whether they mean in general, online or out on the high street. If they mean in general then it will have to be my latest ebay buy. Its a panda hat :) Im in total awe of it. Cannot wait till it arrives. Downside is that I have to wait 2 weeks as it is being shipped over from China.

LOVE LOVE LOVE<3

I apologise once again for my absence, its just I really need to job hunt before I restart uni again in september and move into my student house permentantly

Peace out

Day 8 - A song to match your mood

Yet again, another tricky one for me.
I might just pick the song I am listening to at the moment. It's by a youtuber named David Choi. Its a colab with 2 other youtubers named Ryan 'NigaHiga' Higa and JRArqino (think I spelt it right.) Its called 'I'm Hardcore' Thats how I am feeling at the moment. Proper hardcore. LOL!
Here is the video.

Day 7 - Your dream wedding....Apology for yday

Trickyyyyyy!
To be quite honest with you; I am probably the only girl who hasn't got a plan for what I want. All I would say is that I hope it is a really happy day for everyone and that nothing goes wrong on the day. I literally have nothing else to say. How boring am I? So yeah I got nothing else to add for this.

Going into my actual topic. I do apologise for yesterdays excuse of a blog. I was extremely busy. Had about a million people expected at my house to either do work on the house and to deliver stuff I had ordered online. Luckily, everything went to plan and it is now complete. Good times.

So today was the deadline for a call I was waiting to get. It was for a job that I was interviewed for last week. Unfortunately, I didn't get the call. I am gutted. I really thought I had a chance at the job as it is something I am passionate about. I went into the room with confidence; somehow that must of backfired on me.
There is one thing I hate about the aftermath of the interview though. That is the 'calling process' They always say 'Yeah we will get back to you within a certain number of days', so you are sitting around for days on end just staring at your phone or computer waiting for that all-important call or email. But no, nothing.
It would be great if they could call you to say 'no' and give you a little feedback as to what you did wrong. But no, they just leave you hanging. I hate that.
I feel this would be such an improvement to people if they were to know what they failed on. This could help them improve for the next time they come across a job interview. This is why the government have so many unemployed people (MY OPINION SO DONT TAKE OFFENSE) people dont know what they did wrong in the interview to be accepted. It winds me up so muchhhhh!

That is my rant of the day.

Peace out
AJ
